On Memorial Day I decided that me, Dave, and Lawson were going to hike in Oak Mountain State Park. I had heard Dave talk about the beautiful scenery and even a waterfall, so I wanted to check it out for myself... sounds idyllic, right? Well, I wasn't factoring in the 98 degree heat (we went about 1:00pm) OR the mosquitoes! I had already been biten about 5 times when Lawson peed his pants because he couldn't get his pants button undone (and he didn't want help.) It was after we changed him into his emergency outfit (that Dave, of course, had on hand) that I declared our "hike" over!

We aren't fans of hiking in this heat either. I'm not sure the kids will ever go hiking with me again. Maybe having to be rescued has a little bit to do with it!
