Our day of surgery actually went much better than I expected. Lawson went to the nurses just fine when they took him back, so that made the hand-off MUCH easier for me. I only got a little upset after he was in surgery. When they brought him back to the room, he still had his IV in and he was softly crying. He seemed so pitiful; fortunately, they brought him more medicine shortly thereafter. I picked him up to hold him, and he quickly fell asleep for the most of the hour we had to stay for observation. When we initially left the surgery center, Lawson was a little grumpy, but he soon perked up. After that, he had a pretty good day. MeMe and Pop stayed with us all weekend to help, and Lawson loved having them around. Mel and Ellen are coming Monday, so Lawson will be in heaven! Thanks to the grandparents for all your help!!
